Tracy Cusack
Tracy lives on the Central Coast with her husband and son. Together Tracy and her husband have owned two successful small businesses for 25 years. Prior to that Tracy had a 16 year career in the Public Sector – so that means she’s really old! Because obviously running two businesses and raising 2 children wasn’t enough Tracy trained to become a Financial Counsellor in 2007. For the last 15 years Tracy has been a Financial Counsellor with the Central Coast Region Financial Counselling Service, the last 13 years as Team Leader. Tracy has discovered her passion is to help people become fantastic Financial Counsellor’s through training and supervision. ‘I love meeting all the new students when they join the Steps Program and sharing my passion for Financial Counselling’
Deb Shroot
Deb is based in Canberra and has been working as a financial counsellor for the National Debt Helpline and Care Financial Counselling for 6 years. She is also the sector advocate at Financial Counselling Australia. Deb is very passionate about helping people who are experiencing financial difficulty. Before moving into financial counselling, Deb had over 15 years’ experience managing Budget and Reporting functions for large corporates. Deb enjoys advocating for her clients to ensure they are supported, well informed and receive fair treatment. Deb also enjoys advocating for change on systemic issues and has worked on sector campaigns to save safe lending and regulate buy now pay later products.
Kate Rich
Kate brings 11 years’ experience as a Financial Counsellor to the STEP’s program. Kate was drawn to financial counselling when she was living in Alice Springs and witnessed the injustices people were facing. She has experience working in problem gambling and loves that no two clients are the same when it comes to the work. Kate now works from Western Australia and is passionate about the quality experience students can have as part of the STEP’s program.
Dr Domenique Meyrick

Having studied creative arts, cinema and theology, Domenique brings a creative perspective to the industry. She’s been involved in frontline volunteering in a range of areas, including working with people affected by homelessness and people experiencing mental health issues.
Since starting with FCA in 2017, she has been involved in projects to further professionalise the sector, working in areas including training, professional development and contributing to a workforce development plan. Domenique has enjoyed collaborating with colleagues in areas including the national conference and FCA’s Reconciliation Action Plan. She represents FCA in external fora on a variety of policy issues.
Domenique finds it rewarding to be part of a small, but dedicated team that shares a great sense of collegiality and purpose while achieving meaningful results.
